Izzy Heltai is an indie-folk singer-songwriter who puts a unique twist on traditional story-telling. Through songs that draw from personal stories to address broader universal truths, Izzy connects deeply with his listeners. Izzy’s latest release, Only Yesterday (April 2019) draws inspiration from the natural beauty of his native Western Massachusetts, his lived experiences, and stories from his community.

“Izzy's simple and often nomadic life is deeply reflected in his music. An unusual power and constant movement dominate his storytelling.” -The Wild Honey Pie

At 22-years-old, Izzy has already garnered a loyal following in the New England area. His debut EP, “Sweet Apathy” (January 2018), was released to a sold-out show at Club Passim in Cambridge, MA, and received acclaim from Red Line Roots, which noted that Izzy has “a voice that is equal parts gruff, sandpapered scratches, unfiltered and open just enough to let the story out.”

In the summer of 2018, Izzy was named a finalist in Kerrville Folk Festival’s New Folk Songwriting competition in Kerrville, TX. He has performed at both regionally and nationally acclaimed festivals, including a featured performance at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival’s Grassy Hill Emerging Artist Showcase in Hillsdale, NY; Ossipee Valley Music Festival in Cornish, ME; and Freshgrass Bluegrass Festival at Mass MoCA in North Adams, MA.

With Only Yesterday, Izzy continues to build his reputation as a vital new voice in the folk community.
